Jess and Mal are a magnetic couple who currently live in Denver, but their strong ties brought them back for a fun and non-traditional Minneapolis wedding at the Neu Neu. What stood out to me when Jess + Mal reached out was their dog Mavis, who THEY HAD IN THE WEDDING! Unbelievably cute. Jess and Mal infused their day with countless other personal touches. From the Reverie food truck to the badminton game, there was no shortage of details to make the day unique. 

Incorporating your furry family members into your wedding is a fun way to add a personal touch to your day. As a mother of three cats (and aunt to many more), I know just how meaningful a person’s relationship to their pets can be. And if getting a pet was an important milestone in your relationship, you can honor that on your wedding day! If wrangling a pet all day sounds overwhelming, consider recruiting a friend to help out, or hiring a wedding pet attendant service like Doggy Social. You can also find an abundance of custom, pet-sized wedding attire on Etsy, so your little fur ball can look just as drop-dead gorgeous as you and your partner!

Jess + Mal also chose to schedule some private moments throughout the day. This allowed them to decompress between socializing, and ensured they could meaningfully connect with one another throughout the day. After their ceremony, Jess and Mal hosted an outdoor cocktail hour. The outdoor setup included a comfy lounge set from Style Society, and a photo booth from Northerly Photo Camper. Their day was filled with sooo many funny, intimate, moving, and joyful moments that we were so privileged to capture. But most importantly, the day felt uniquely Jess + Mal.
