Feeling lost in your business? I've been there. Being an entrepreneur and small business owner is HARD, but with the right support and guidance, it can be one of the most rewarding things you'll ever do.
When I first started my business (and many times since then), I relied on the guidance and support of the incredible entrepreneurs who came before me. Even with this support, I had to many many of my own mistakes along the way, especially as a Black woman carving my way in an industry dominated by white entrepreneurs with access to resources and generational wealth not available to me.
Now, after 5 years of running my own business, I want to help YOU. I'm now offering virtual coaching calls, and trust me when I say you don't want to miss it!
You’ll get my undivided attention, and I'll share with you my fave tips and tricks to really help your business take off!
My story starts in 2017 when I picked up a DSLR for the first time to take photos for the summer debate camp I started with my now-fiancé, Andrew. From the moment I snapped my first photos, I was hooked. I kept learning what I could about photography, taking photos of anyone who would pay me!
After a year of building a photography business as a side hustle, I took the scary leap, quit my day job, and worked tirelessly to build Celisia Stanton Photography into a sustainable, thriving business. And it worked!
I was juggling multiple wedding reschedules in the middle of a global pandemic, and for the first time, the future of my business was uncertain. I live in Minneapolis, and that summer George Floyd was murdered by police officers a few miles from my house.
As a result, I began sharing my beliefs and perspectives on systemic racism, power, and under-taught history on my Instagram account @celisiastanton for the first time. As a Black Latina woman raised by same-sex parents in the midwest, I’ve always had a personal investment in racial justice and the liberation of all people. But I’d often keep talk about politics and the issues I cared most about separate from my business. Before that summer, I’d always been told to be careful when sharing my opinions publicly to avoid alienating potential clients and sabotaging my income.
But that summer was different – I just couldn’t stay quiet anymore. And the best part was that people seemed to like what I had to say. I found my personal and business platforms growing practically overnight.
I was thrilled to be able to serve clients from such diverse backgrounds and pleased that my business was falling back on track.
Flash forward to today, and I’ve expanded my team to include 3 AMAZING associate photographers who help me serve more than 100 awesome clients each year.
We released 10 episodes in the first season and are currently in development for season 2. As an independent podcast producer without a distribution company behind me, I’ve grown the podcast following including an audience of more than 160k followers on TikTok and more than 900 Apple Podcast reviews with an average of 4.9 stars. Truer Crime has also been featured in PopSugar, Mashable (twice!), and the podcast “Terrible, Thanks for Asking.”
Solopreneur or not, everyone needs people in their court. People who will cheer for your successes, help you muscle through the difficulties, and push you to achieve your wildest dreams.
I started virtual coaching calls because I know those people can sometimes be hard to find, especially when you're carving your own path as a business owner. I've experienced it first hand, and know just how valuable the right insight and advice can be in helping you speed towards the best possible version of your business.
On our coaching calls you'll tell me the good, bad, and ugly of your business, and I will tell you exactly what I wish someone would have told me.
I CAN'T WAIT!! <3

"She has been amazing in listening to my goals, giving me solid advice and concrete actions to take, and then checking in with me to see how my progress is going between calls. Celisia is very knowledgeable (which can be seen simply by how she runs her own business), and has helped me with everything from client experience and web design to bookkeeping and business management. She holds nothing back and truly wants to see her clients grow! And look, if she sees ANY room for improvement, she's going to let you know! I love that she doesn't sugar coat things or simply tell me I'm doing a good job (if I wanted that feedback, I'd go to my mom). She's honest and promotes growth like a pro!"
"Since working as an entrepreneur, I've really struggled finding people who understood what it means to be self-employed (I'm working! I promise!!). After chatting with Celisia, I not only feel less alone, but I feel more prepared to do the things I need to do in order to succeed in my business.
She really knows a little about everything you might be worried about as a business owner. From
