Sam + Cierra’s Mosaic Venue wedding was a day full of elegance, joy, and laughter! The two first met in Washington, D.C., at an after-party for the Congressional Black Caucus Conference. The two quickly hit it off and danced the night away! The next day, Sam returned home to Minnesota, and the two talked every day for months! After countless nights falling asleep on Facetime, Sam surprised Cierra by renting out one of her favorite restaurants in Maryland — inviting her closest family and friends to celebrate their engagement.

When choosing a wedding venue, it’s essential to consider your plan for getting ready photos. For Sam + Cierra, the fact that Mosaic was attached to the Eliot Park Hotel made it an ideal choice! Not only was this a tremendous low-travel option for the day itself, but it also gave their out-of-town friends and family an easy place to stay before and after! Many wedding venues also have getting-ready spaces you can use, and it’s always a good idea to ask about this option when doing your touring. Sam + Cierra’s day was captured by my amazing associate Colette, who you can read more about here! The couple started their day in separate rooms at the Eliott Park Hotel, getting ready with their respective wedding parties. Next was Cierra’s first look with her dad, who shed a few tears looking at his stunning daughter. Sam + Cierra then worked their way through a variety of couples, wedding party, and family photos before the whole group traveled next door to Mosaic for the ceremony. Sam + Cierra’s ceremony and reception were a beautiful reflection of their love and their personal style. They had live music (a saxophonist and a pianist), lit a unity candle, and finished it all by jumping the broom together.
